Schnoodle History

The Schnoodle is believed to be originally in the United States original date is unknown.  The Breed probably arrived when a breeder caught on to the expanding popularity of poodle designer dog mixes.

Schnoodle Facts and Schnoodle Information

The Schnoodle is a mix between and schnauzer and a poodle.  The sizes of schnoodles varies from around 10 to 22 lbs.  The Schnoodle comes in many colors depending on the parents from apricot to silver and white.  The Schnoodle usually has a lifespan from 9-15 years of age depending on heritage , health and care.  These are generally meduim to low level activity dogs and generally good with people.  Schnoodles are low allergy dogs which make them great for those with allergic conditions.

Schnoodles are also known as Snoodles

Schnoodle Care and Schnoodle Maintenance

Schnoodles have high grooming needs.  The Schnoodle dog or " snoodle " should get brushed and combed regularly as well as the routine hair clipping.  Schnoodles are light shedders so your clothes and furniture are "more-so" safe.

Schnoodle Temperment

Schnoodles are "in general" great with children and dogs alike.  Temperment tests should be given before purchasing a schnoodle like any other dog.  As with any designer dog, love , care and training are defining factors in maintaining a healthy dog.

Common Snoodle Diseases and Disorders

Schnoodle dogs are prone to getting the following:  Hip dysplasia, legg-calve-perthes disease, eye disorders, and patella luxation.  REMEMBER: Breeding and heritage have much to do with the health of your schnoodle dog.  make sure you get them tested before you decide to own a schnoodle dog.

General Schnoodle information

Remember that your schoodle dog is a great responsibility.  Schnoodles may be bred well, but thats only the half of it.  Schnoodles need constant love and care.  Schnoodles are generally good with people and other dogs, however no child should be left alone with any dog.  Its important you know also the financial responsibility of having a schnoodle.  Schnoodle dogs can be very expensive above and beyond the cost of getting a schnoodle dog.
